Whether she’s crafting engaging campaigns by day or hitting 10,000 steps by night, Madison knows a thing or two about staying consistent. Managing content schedules and tracking analytics requires serious stamina, but she brings the same energy to her workouts as she does DiRAD’s feed. In this month’s Company Spotlight, we chatted with her about how she stays active online as well as in her life.
You’ve been at DiRAD for almost 5 years now. How has your job evolved/changed?
When I first started working for DiRAD Technologies in 2022, I was fresh out of college and very new to the role. Since then, my role has grown a lot, and I’ve taken on more responsibility in pretty much every area of what I do. We have more social media accounts, a much larger audience, and are putting out more content than when I first started. I take great pride in being the voice behind the #TeamDiRAD brand and showcasing who we are as industry leaders.
Looking back at your career journey so far, what key experiences or decisions do you believe have significantly contributed to your growth?
I went to Utica College, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations. My first internships had me doing social media, and if I hadn’t taken those opportunities in undergrad, who knows if I would have made my way to DiRAD and been working in Social Media Marketing!
Are there any skills or knowledge areas you are actively developing or plan to develop to enhance your career/skills in the coming years?
I’m focused on mastering the programs and tools I use every day and honing my skills with them, rather than trying to use every program and tool on the market. As they say, a jack of all trades is a master of none! I plan to continue learning and growing by attending webinars and events and taking advantage of all the resources around me.
What are your favorite aspects of your job?
I love having the opportunity to be creative in my role. Everyone at DiRAD is very respectful of each other’s responsibilities and is always willing to provide assistance, feedback, or a fresh perspective when needed. Being able to lean on my teammates while still having the freedom to explore my own creativity has been a huge part of my growth, and in hindsight, DiRAD’s growth!
Are there any mentors, professional networks, or resources that have been particularly valuable in supporting your career growth, and/or what advice would you give someone seeking a similar career?
I’m always staying up to date on industry trends and the latest changes on social media. Staying active and aware online is one of the best ways to do that. I always have my phone on me, and I use it to my advantage! Even outside of business hours, I’ll take a few minutes in the evening to scroll through DiRAD’s newsfeeds, see what’s happening, and make sure I’m not missing anything important or relevant. You never know when an opportunity will present itself, so staying connected is very important!
My advice to anyone looking to follow a similar path would be to stay engaged, pay attention to what’s happening across different platforms, and keep learning. Social media is constantly changing, so staying in the know and spotting trends as they emerge is a big part of the job.
In your previous Company Spotlight, you said one of your favorite hobbies is fitness. Is that still the case? What type of physical activity are you interested in? Tell us about it.
Absolutely! If anything, my passion has only grown. My favorite part of my day is my morning workout. Whether it is hitting a lift at the gym, attending a workout class, or walking around my neighborhood, it makes me feel accomplished, energized, and ready to tackle the workday. I’ve rarely taken a morning off in the past five years!
In your previous Company Spotlight, you said one of your favorite quotes was “The pain you feel today will be the strength you need tomorrow.” Is it still? If so, why do you think it still applies? If not, what is your new favorite quote?
I think that quote still applies, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve also come to believe that everything does happen for a reason. I believe God works through us and doesn’t place things in our lives that we aren’t capable of handling. Even when something feels difficult in the moment, there is usually something to learn from it or a reason it happened. Through faith, you can trust that you’ll find your way through and come out stronger on the other side.
